Background

Haskins, a family business started in 1882, have four of the largest garden centres in the country.

Haskins have been a client of Summerhouse since 1993. Our work covers a huge range of elements including point-of-sale material, promotions and advertising, including TV, radio, outdoor and leaflet distribution. We also design and manage their website and monthly email marketing campaigns.

The Challenge

Haskins have over 600 staff across the business and wanted to deliver a comprehensive online training and development system for their staff. It was important that the experience was an extension to the Haskins brand.

It also needed to be trackable and give users the ability to work at their own pace on a wide variety of devices.

Our Approach

Working closely with Haskins’ HR team, we designed and produced Cultivate, an online programme which delivers clear, straightforward training consistently. The training journey is adapted to provide a personalised experience for each individual, based on the location and employment role.

Employee progress and qualifications are tracked, and new initiatives can be implemented quickly and effectively, meaning that everyone working for Haskins is always well informed and able to access good quality training.

The training is brought to life and made engaging by the inclusion of video, quizzes and personalised certificates.

The Results

Inducting and training new staff is now an easy, streamlined process. Trackable progress and manager monitoring provide consistent, accountable results.
